Adjustable Showerhead

The flow adjustor sits right on the showerhead, so you can dial the pressure up or down without touching anything else. It holds a consistent, comfortable flow even when turned right down. The hose runs 3m (10 ft), giving you enough reach to set up wherever you need.

Quick-connect gas hose

Connects to any standard small canister. A single 454g (1 lb) canister heats up to 91L (24 gal) of water to shower temperature, enough for roughly 15 showers. Pack two and you're covered for a full week out.

Reservoir

Holds enough water for two proper showers or one generous one. The built-in two-stage filter handles debris and fine particles, so it handles water from tanks, jerry cans, or a fresh creek. When you're done, everything stows inside the tank: hose, showerhead, gas hose, all of it. Close the lid and go.

Windproof venting

The vented casing directs airflow around the burner to keep it running in exposed conditions. Works on a clifftop, works on a beach, works in a paddock. Just works.

Digital display

Dial in your exact temperature on the digital display, up to 60°C (140°F). The 12V input runs off your vehicle's cigarette socket or any portable power station. Pair it with the Joolca Battery and you have a fully self-contained setup with no vehicle required.

Details you’ll love

The thinking that makes the outdoors great(er)

Recirculating

HOTTAP Go preheats the entire tank in under 5 minutes, so by the time you've set up camp, it's ready. Every drop delivered at exactly the temperature you set, up to +60°C (+140°F).

Proper Shower

The showerhead delivers a full, even spray at any flow rate. Turn it right down to stretch your water and it still feels like a real shower.

Dial it in on the handle

Turn it on, turn it off, and dial the flow — all from the showerhead, without leaving the tent. Wind it down to stretch your water or open it up for full pressure. The control is where it needs to be.

One-touch operation

Dial in your temperature, press Heat, and walk away. The HOTTAP reaches your set temperature on its own in a few minutes.

Use any water source

The built-in two-stage filter handles debris and fine particles. Fill from a creek, a jerry can, or a tank and it draws cleanly from all of them.

Fast setup

Quick-connect gas, water in, water out. Running hot in minutes, without tools, plumbing, or a power hookup.

Jerry can sized

A familiar form that fits naturally into most rigs without any rethinking. Most jerry can holders, brackets, and slots will take it straight out of the box.

Cuts through the dishes

At up to +60°C (+140°F), it handles camp grease the way your kitchen sink does. The washing up doesn't have to be a cold-water job.

Everything Inside

The 12L (3.2 gal) tank is the carry case. Hose, showerhead, gas hose, all of it packs in when you're done. Lid closed, handle up.

Magnetic Mount

The showerhead clips to almost any surface in seconds. Hands-free and properly positioned, every time.

Windproof

Automatic leeward venting keeps the burner lit in strong winds. Works on exposed beaches, ridgelines, and open paddocks, not just sheltered campsites.

I absolutely love the new design. It is well thought out and works extremely well. Honestly the only recommendations I would have for improvement would be to add some way to strap it down so I don’t have to run a strap over the lid and make a built in rechargeable battery. I get the built in battery may not be feasible due to internal temps though. I may get the magnetic battery pack and just stick it to the outside of it.

Pros:

* All-in-one design
* Feels high-quality material (but design flaws)

Cons:

* Price is too high given the following issues:
* Water hose is leaking
* Water filter is difficult to remove
* Water tank is too small
* Not waterproof

Took my 1st long, hit shower this evening with the HOTTIE in my backyard. Took about 2.5 minutes for the water in the reservoir to go from 78F to 106F. Great flow control at the handle as well as on/off feature. Can't wait for proper test of the system during a day out on the ocean or camping.

The unit is fantastic and 'as advertised'. I can confirm the US model does display Fahrenheit. A few things that separates it from becoming a 5 star item. There are no nozzle adjustments (or other accessories) to change the water flow characteristics. For example the shower is fine for showering, but I prefer a steady stream of water for washing my hands and brushing my teeth. The stream you typically see from a household bathroom sink. I had a few third party accessories with quick disconnect, however they were not compatible with the Hottie. The pump kept cycling on or off due to the diameter of the flow not matching or there was not enough pressure. I love the hose. The hose doesn't kink and its not the lame hard plastic "pigtail" you see on brands like WaterPORT, whose products I have thrown in the garbage because the quality is poor. Joolca exceeds my expectation in quality so far. Locking mechanism at the top works fine. I love the portability of it. My only other compliant would be my concern regarding the long term reliability of the quick disconnect port on the unit itself. What I have done (to prevent) wearing out the stock threads is placing another quick connect adapter in front of the original, so it doesn't wear as fast from constant unplugging and replugging. Since I disengage the 2nd disconnect, the original plug remains intact and if that strips, I'm not out a unit.

Platinum Overland

I am a Weekend Warrior Overlander. My wife and I spend nearly every weekend on the trails and camping out of our truck. I understand that the Joolca Hottie might seem to be price prohibitive to a majority of the crowd that they are targeting, but I find great value in the innovation and simplicity. Let me explain.

The most important factor for me when it comes to equipment is usasblilty. If a product is too complicated or requires too much effort to use, I will never even bother to take it out of the truck, until I TAKE IT OUT OF THE TRUCK. The Hottie is extremely simple to setup and use. Everything needed to make hot water for a shower or other cleaning duties is stored inside the unit. This means no searching for pieces or opening multiple compartments in the vehicle just to use it. Setup is less than 30 seconds, and you are well on your way to having instant hot water. Another major convenience is that you can carry the Hottie down to the beach, into the woods or take it with you anywhere because it is so portable and completely self contained.

Now let compare to my previous showering setups. I’ve used a battery powered rechargeable pump with a collapsible bucket, and this worked well. This setup served us well, but having to get out the Jet Boil to boil water to mix in the bucket wasn’t ideal. Also, the amount of water that I needed with my particular setup felt like a waste. I found it easier to just skip taking a shower most of the time, so that’s what we did. I also used a Joolca Hot Tap for instant hot water. This setup worked well, but the setup and storage was a pain. I like that I can turn the nozzle pressure down or off to minimize water usage, but I hate that the first 2 seconds when you turn the nozzle on the water is freezing before the heater kicks on and warms it up. In winter conditions with cold water, this does not work for me or my wife. It was also an entire event to prepare for a shower, so this system rarely got used unless we were in an extended trip.

Where the hottie shines is in the simplicity. I don’t hesitate to use the Hottie just to clean dishes since it is so easy to setup and use. I can even fill the 3.2 gallon tank before I leave home, so it stores its own water instead of carrying water cans for a shower. Just refill it when you get gas, and it’s ready to go again.

This system is essentially a small portable version of what you have at home. If you need the ultimate portability for occasional use, this may not be your best option. However, if you want a product that you will use on every trip and that will add a level of comfort that can’t be matched by many other products, I highly recommend that you give the Joolca Hottie a chance.

GAME CHANGER- the Hottie is a brilliant bit of kit. Super compact, so it doesn’t take up much space, being able to connect to a small propane bottle makes the Hottie super portable, therefore super versatile.

We’ve got a caravan with hot water, but we can now set up a sink outside next to the BBQ to clean the dishes as we go. No more dragging filthy dishes into the van to clean inside.

The Hottie will stay permanently in our car so we can wash off our feet after riverside and beach adventures.

First startup, zero issues or struggles. Build quality is exceptional. Absolutely amazing!

Absolute game changer for camping hot water systems...

I was lucky enough to recieve one of the first few units to test and review and was genuinely impressed by how well it works. It took less than 5 minutes to get the water from 27-50 degrees, and the 12L capacity is easily enough for 2x camping showers (my partner and I have just finished our first lap of Australia and we used 5L each per shower on average).

Where this new recirculating system is better than the older "instantaneous" systems is with zero water wastage - we wasted a lot of water on our travels by waiting the initial few seconds for the instantaneous system to heat up, whereas the water is already at the perfect temperature the second you turn the switch with the HOTTIE.

An all-round brilliant product with everything thought of (and the fact that everything packs away inside is a bonus!!).

R
Richard

So Joolca sent us the HOTTIE to take to Moreton Island and test. We absolutley loved it!

It completely blew away every portable hot water service I've ever used.
It only takes a couple of minutes to heat the water up to your EXACT temperature, you get a great shower (or 2) out of it, it's got an adjustable flow in the shower head, everything you need for a great shower off grid.

L
Laura Bajada-Paton

I had the Hottie for beta testing and took it away with my camping group. The few people that used it were extremely impressed with it. The ease of set up and the speed of the water warming was amazing! The added control once under the shower was very appreciated. Cannot recommend it enough. Then again all the Joolca equipment is the best.

T
Terry

I’ve had a Beta unit of the Joolca Hottie for over 10 months now, and I still use it most weekends. I absolutely love this thing — I honestly can’t recommend it enough.

I also own two Hottaps, which I use in different setups, but the Hottie is just next level. It’s smaller, easier to pack and carry, and just so user-friendly. The shower time is great, and it’s held up really well in all sorts of weather — its resistance to wind is fantastic.

I’ve run it off both the Joolca battery and Milwaukee 12V batteries, and it works perfectly with either. It’s just such a solid, reliable bit of gear that makes camping and weekends away so much easier.

If you’re thinking about getting one — do it. You won’t regret it.

Can't fault it. I have this shower unit set up in my cabin. 42 showers from 1 lb of gas!
Easy to set and use. Can take it anywhere.

C
Customer

Vraiment pratique!

FAQs

  • How Does it work?

HOTTAP Go is a fully self-contained hot water system with its own water tank and pump. Simply fill it up, set your desired temperature (up to 60°C), and press start.HOTTAP Go will recirculate the same water until it reaches your chosen temperature (around 5 minutes) - delivering every drop at perfect, consistent heat. Whether you’re showering, rinsing off gear, or washing up, it’s ready when you are.
  • But a tankless option doesn't have any waiting time!

True - but off-grid, normally time isn't in short supply. In the time HOTTAP Go is heating up, you can get your towel, set up your gear, or round up the kids. Waters' what you need to worry about. And because of the short warm up period, you save every drop.
  • How much water does it hold?

HOTTAP Go's 12L reservoir is perfectly sized for two great showers or one long, luxurious one.By pausing the water flow between rinsing and lathering, you can stretch it even further - thanks to HOTTAP Go's recirculation design. Every drop is pre-heated, so there’s no wasted water during startup, adjustments, or pauses.
  • HOTTAP Go's tank just isn't big enough for my family

HOTTAP Go's tank is built for two good showers or one great one. Need more? Refill (from any water source), press go, and it’s hot again before your next kid tracks down a towel. Oh, and it keeps the kids from emptying your entire water supply - miracle technology!
  • What gas does it use?

HOTTAP Go runs on standard 1lb propane canisters. Each canister heats up to 24 gallons of water to shower temperature - that’s roughly 15 showers. The compact gas hose and canister conveniently store inside the HOTTAP Go reservoir when not in use. Prefer a larger setup? No problem. HOTTAP Go also works with 9kg gas tanks - you’ll just need a compatible hose and regulator to suit.
  • How do I power the HOTTAP Go?

HOTTAP Go uses 12V power to run its electronics and built-in pump. Included is a cigarette-style power cable, perfect for plugging directly into your vehicle’s 12V socket. You can also power it with the Joolca Power Bank or any other suitable portable power source.
  • Can I use water from wild sources like a river or lake?

Yes. HOTTAP Go features a two-stage filtration system - a removable debris filter for larger particles and a fine mesh filter that protects the internals for long-term reliability.
  • How hot does the water get?

Up to 60°C. Even starting with icy water, HOTTAP Go will heat it right up to your chosen temperature.
